How do half elf names work?
Wilwyn = wil (resolute will, human) + wyn (fair, hybrid suffix). That blend is the whole trick. A half elf name is not a new tradition. It is two traditions in one line: a human given root, an elvish middle when it appears, and a suffix that both sides can pronounce.
Rosiel parses the same way: ros (rose, human) + iel (daughter of, elvish). Bethan is beth (house, human) + an (of the line of, hybrid). The one-parent rule
A half elf name answers one question first: which parent's table did it come off? Published setting tables treat half-elf naming as a household decision. Raised among elves, the child takes an elvish name and often a house surname. Raised among humans, a human name and a human surname. Raised between, the name splits: one part from each parent, which is the blend this generator builds. The rule is a receipt you can check against any setting that publishes its tables: count the morphemes, name each one's tradition, and the household that named the character falls out of the math. A name like Rosiel says the human mother named her, in elvish. A name like Tanis says the setting wanted one name nobody else owned. Pick your character's household first; the name follows.

Half elf vs elf names
