How do French usernames work?
Three documented formations carry the lane. The diminutive adds a little-ending to a root: chaton is chat plus -on, a kitten; maisonnette is maison plus -ette, a little house. The apocope clips a word at its stressed syllable: resto from restaurant, apéro from apéritif, dico from dictionnaire. French does this constantly, in speech first and writing second. The poetic noun needs no surgery at all: sillage is the trail a perfume leaves in a room, and it carries whole.

Are the words in the generator real French?
The roots and receipts are, yes. Chaton, maisonnette, resto and apéro are attested French, used here as pattern receipts. The diminutive welds (brumette-class) are our builds from a productive pattern, and the tradition line says so.
Why do the handles have no accents?
Because most platforms do. Handles are usually ASCII: no é, no è, no ç. The generator keeps every word in plain letters so the result works as a login anywhere. Write it with accents where the platform allows them.
